We are a group of professionals who maintain the educational rights, welfare, and the mental health and wellness of every child by ensuring regular school attendance. We work closely with families, school personnel, and community partners to address barriers to education so that students' are able to find personal success and reach their potential.
Read MoreEvery spring OACAS hosts its annual conference. This is a time for Attendance Counsellors to come together for valuable networking and training. Keynote speakers present on a variety of topics which are relevant to the field of attendance and have included individuals such as Kevin Cameron, Executive Director for the Canadian Centre for Threat Assessment and Trauma, and Dr. Michael Ungar who is the Co-director of Resiliency research. Participants are also provided valuable information from Ministry of Education personnel regarding registration and enrollment rules, student success, etc.
Membership has never been easier! Once you register as a member and have paid your dues you will have access to updated articles and communication with other registered members as well as members of the OACAS Executive and the Provincial Attendance Counsellor. Should you be considering joining us in June for our annual conference and you register for you membership prior to the cutoff date you will receive a discount on your conference package.
** EARLY BIRD PROMOTION. If you pay between June 30 - November 14, the cost will be $50. If you pay between November 15 - June 29, the cost of membership will be $75.
