The Provincial School Attendance Counsellor (PSAC)
Anthony Di Lena is our new Provincial School Attendance Counsellor
Anthony has been with the Ministry of Education since 2000 when he started as an Education Officer responsible for Secondary School Policy for Guidance and Career Education. Since then he moved in 2004 to assist with the start of the Student Success Initiative. In 2007, he became a Senior Manager with the Student Success/Learning to 18- Implementation, Training and Evaluation Branch where he remained until this recent appointment.
Prior to joining the Ministry Anthony began his teaching experience with the Toronto Catholic Board and then the York Region Catholic Board was he was the Head of Guidance. Along the way he served as President and the Executive of the Ontario School Counsellors’ Association (OSCA). Anthony is very familiar with the important and complex role the members of OACAS play in our education system. Having spend a significant portion of his career as a guidance counsellor and administrator in the publicly funded education system before coming to the Ministry in 2000, he is extremely appreciative of the work done and the challenges facing attendance counsellors and the Association.
